Microwave Chocolate Cake

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

3 tablespoons baking cocoa

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup cold water

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 tablespoon vinegar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

CHOCOLATE SAUCE:

1 cup sugar

3 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons baking cocoa

1 cup boiling water

Dash salt

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cake:

In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking cocoa, baking soda, salt. Stir in water, oil, vinegar and vanilla until well blended.

Pour into an ungreased 8-in. microwave-safe dish. Microwave on high for 6-8 minutes, turning the dish every 2 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

CHOCOLATE SAUCE:

In a 1-qt microwave safe bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and cocoa. Stir in water and salt.

Microwave 1 minute more.

Stir in butter and vanilla. Spoon over pieces of warm cake.
